Analyst(Data/ Business/ Application)

Business Analyst - SDLC, MS Dynamics, Jira

  • Analyse and document existing business processes with a view of streamlining and introducing efficiencies via structured change management and software enhancement.
  • Assist in the information and requirements gathering process, reconciling conflicts, decomposing high-level information into detail, abstracting up from low-level information to a general understanding.
  • Distinguishing user requests from underlying true business needs; -
  • Draft, finalise and support the sign off of functional specifications.
  • Facilitate workshops to support the functional specification process. –
  • Drive and challenge business units on their assumptions of how they will successfully execute their plans
  • Advising on potential improvements to business processes –
  • Development of use cases / stories and functional requirements documentation where new software solutions are to be developed/ -
  • Collaborating with developers and subject matter experts to establish the technical vision for the project
  • Data Analysis, Data Mapping and Data Migration
  • Support change control and change management processes including the software release management
  • Advising on the appropriate application of software solutions to drive business processes efficiencies
  • Highlighting issues and risks to the project manager and recommending mitigation strategies
  • Support related SDLC activities such as Testing and Post Go Live Support Responsibility Area

Experience required:

  • Required 10+ years of experience as a business analyst in a software development environment
  • 3+ years of experience working in an Agile software environment.
  • Working with JIRA Effective Problem-Solving skills in the context of software development / business process improvement
  • Excellent business writing and technical communication skills demonstrated with experience in writing technical specification/ presentations/ solution designs and workshop facilitation
  • Effective Stakeholder management skills to effectively deliver software projects
  • As Is – To Be Process mapping Hands on experience with Microsoft software products including Dynamics CRM (365) and Dynamics Portals (v8.3 community)
  • Technical Documentation including Functional Requirements Specifications, process maps and standard operating procedures Experience with coordinating software release management activities

Desirable: 

  • Experience with grant / funding management operational processes Experience with grant / funding management software
  • Knowledge of Information Security standards and best practice Understanding of GDPR and experience working with ICT systems that process personal date Software Testing
