Business Analyst - IT Manager

The ERP PL team provides end-to-end Supply Chain solutions aligned with strategic goals of the organization to deliver innovative value to our customers.

IT Manager, BA will support Business, BTL (Business Technology Leader) and PLO (Product Line Owner) to design and build new capabilities and/or enhancements to a product, platform, or feature/application focusing on MAKE process and technologies.

 

IT Manager is expected to understand the SC business processes and work closely with the business partners to deliver technology backlog supporting the business process, manage demand planning, analysis, prioritization, and execution and ensure quality for IT process capabilities for ERP Product line.

 

In this capacity, IT manager is expected to collaborate with business and technical architects to shape conceptual solution design to meet the business need and then work with technology services team to facilitate the implementation and support of SAP functionalities to enhance the business functionality and overall performance, while maintaining a high degree of customer satisfaction.

 

IT manager ensures the Agile methodology is the primary option for delivering IT solutions. Responsible for delivering Epics and User Stories to the Scrum team.  Partners with the Scrum team to estimate the duration and cost of the project.  Schedules demos of the IT solution with the business partners. Plans, coordinate, follow up and support the business during UAT and project Go Live/Cut Over activities.

 

Major Duties & Responsibilities

       Process & technology leadership –

  • Be a technology partner with expertise in MAKE area (INM, MES/PES, POM & QM) working with Business and Technology partners/SMEs to identify unmet needs, shape business demand, and propose new solutions
  • Partner with business and BTL’s to understand business drivers, strategic direction, and set priorities
  • Interface and handle relationships across teams, proactively match business needs with existing ERP technology capability, driving adoption of core system and highlighting value in a business context
  • Maintain and advance a positive team culture and support an authentic, open, and broad environment that improves diverse experiences and perspectives

       Projects & Enhancement execution

  • Accountable for projects and opportunities in the domain of MAKE processes
  • Liaison with TS to secure required resources
  • Work closely with Business partners, BTLs, Product Owners and TS to align and determine best solutions and services to solve business problems in this area
  • Tracks progress of product development and define capability roadmaps to ensure business needs & objectives are accounted/aligned
  • Accountable for all aspects of delivery for the area of responsibility assigned

       Product Backlog Grooming & Capacity Team  

  • Writes, manages, and clarifies user stories and defines acceptance criteria
  • Explaining the business ask, intent, process, and requirements to Functional Analysts/ Scrum team to drive build and test of functionality
  • Works with technical services to understand capacity team resource mix, while maximizing throughput
  • Negotiate with the business to see what items (story points) are built and which are backlogged based on capacity, business value and priority
  • Accountable for the development work being delivered correctly and tracking progress of product development in the context of the larger program (scrum master owns day to day burn down charts)
  • Reports back to the business on status of the delivery of features, functionality, and applications
  • Manage to assure compliance and adherence to all SOX, regulatory and business requirements and inspire a Credo driven team
  • Resolves business and technical challenges to deliver on time, cost, and quality and to ensure realization of business benefits

Platform Reliability & Performance:

  • Plan and execute to improve performance and adoption of the Platform.
  • Connect with platform owners, technical services team, ISRM and stakeholders to resolve high priority incidents and compliance related escalations.
  • Be a point of contact for P1 / P2 incidents to communicate to business and get the solution & RCA from TS at the earliest

A minimum of a bachelor’s degree is required.

A minimum of 8 years of relevant experience is required, a minimum of 5+ years relevant SAP experience with advanced degree or equivalent is required

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong Knowledge of SC Business processes in the MAKE area (INM, MES/PES, POM & QM) Ability to translate business requirements into Technical Epics/Stories.  Experience working across multiple levels of business and IT stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of technology trends and applying this knowledge to existing business processes, especially on the MAKE area
  • Understanding of ERP SAP functionality.  Ability to determine capabilities and limitations of existing SAP systems.
  • Ability to think creatively about where business initiatives drive technology evolution and to break-down processes and reinvent enabling technology capabilities with partners is required
  • Demonstrated strong sense of urgency in completing deliverables, excellent written and oral communication skills, strong negotiating/ influencing skills, self-starter with excellent interpersonal skills are required
  • Ability to work effectively in highly matrixed organization and dealing with high levels of ambiguity is required.

  • Experience with Agile methodology and strong understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle Management model and documentation
  • Good Knowledge with SOX, GxP compliance processes

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with pharmaceutical industry and deep understanding of supply chain business and its operating environment is preferred
  • Sound knowledge in SAP processes including integrations and API’s and knowledge/ experience in S/4 HANA is desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of product lifecycle maintenance.
  • People management experience (direct or indirect)
  • Budget management, including contract resources and software licenses
  • Certifications in Business Analysis, Supply Chain Professional or Project Management (PMP certification) or proven experience will be highly regarded
  • Strong experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS office tools, experience with HP Quality Center and experience with Agile, Scrum, JIRA preferred
