Role overview

The Network Expert Services team provides customers with a consultative approach in order to 1) differentiate Elavon’s proposition from competitors, 2) help customers grow their business, 3) help customers minimise network costs, and 4) drive sustainable incremental revenue for Elavon.

The role Authorisation Optimisation Analyst will report to the Network Expert Services Manager and provide data and research support to deliver to customer needs. The successful candidate will have a strong analytical skillset and attention to detail, but also be a collaborative team player.

Initial focus will be to build Authorisation Optimisation analytics and metrics to assist Elavon’s large corporate customers understand reasons for declines to boost approval rates.

Core Duties

• provide the data needs of the Network Expert Services team
• develop analytics to build understanding of Authorisation declines and increase success rates
• adopt consultative approach to advise and partner corporate customers through the provision of Network Expert Services to pro-actively improve customer Authorisation Approvals rates
• assist in monetising value from Network Expert Services other cost saving initiatives such as Data Enrichment, Large Merchant Programmes and Dynamic Interchange
• analysis of customer data to spot opportunities and correct potential issues
• analysis to benchmark customers against like customers to offer insight utilising Elavon’s industry knowledge
• work in close collaboration with Elavon Sales/BD/RM teams

• Data analytics & SQL
• well-developed mathematical and analytical skills
• Advanced Excel

Preferred Skills/Experience

• 3 to 5 years experience in Acquiring/Merchant Services
• knowledge of Authorisation approval/decline processes
• advanced data analytical skills

• understanding of Elavon platforms and data extraction
• understanding of interchange and/or scheme fees
