We are searching for a Software Development Manager - Medical Devices Healthcare Technology Solutions to join us!

The Role

This position will be part of a forward-looking, innovative, and delivery minded team of software professionals that build platforms and applications in SAFe, for our Medical Devices lines of business, enabling the future of healthcare in the Digital World. The selected individual will act as Software Development Manager, responsible for application architecting solutions, leading the technical implementation, and mentoring software developers with different levels of expertise, that are in charge of developing solutions for Healthcare Professionals, Patients and healthcare providers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Software Development squads, using Agile and SAFe practices, to build outstanding modern architected solutions for new business opportunities in the Medical Devices marketplace.
  • Understand the strengths and weaknesses of the current platforms and be a trusted advisor to our technical and business partners, in identifying new solutions or new ways of working which improve the delivery or operation of the platforms.
  • Use your knowledge to facilitate the development teams good adoption and mastery of DevOps, CICD, Intelligent Automation, Test Automation and Infrastructure as Code in the building and delivery of the platform.
  • Have a keen interest in the Medical Devices marketspace, covering the use of Medical Devices products and patient treatment, understanding how software solution can add additional value to traditional or new products and treatments.
  • Respond rapidly to new, sophisticated business requirements and the ability to translate those to a future proof and best in class solution that aligns with the consumer R&D’s technical landscape and goals.
  • Mentor and coach others to advance their career. Advocate for your peers and create growth opportunities for those around you.
  • Connect with internal engineering and enterprise architecture counterparts globally to share strategy and identify re-use opportunities.
  • In addition to the project work, drive consistency across the portfolio by collaborating closely with her/his global peers helping shape the Technology Service operating model in close collaboration with the engagement discipline and partnership with Johnson & Johnson Medical Devices business partners.

 

Others:

Travel of up to 10% is required.

The position is preferably located in Beerse, Belgium.

Must have:

  • Java (e.g.: intelliJ, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, Hibernate, etc.) and knowledge of multiple software dev methodologies
  • Experience with K8S, Microservices architecture, Event driven architecture, NoSQL database, Kafka, Terraform, AWS or Azure
  • Continuous integration & deployment based on Git, Maven, Nexus, Jenkins, etc.
  • Development or integration of REST services
  • Experience with designing API's and complex integration architectures.
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing and have a test-focused approach to ensure the quality of your code
  • Familiarity with Agile software development methodologies
  • Deep understanding of Continuous Delivery strategies and CI/CD pipeline setup in a microservice architecture
  • Have a specialist understanding of Software architecture and Software engineering in a CloudNative environment.
  • Ability to tackle complex business problems & present recommendations to seniors.
  • Willingness to promote standards and methodologies within your team
  • Excellent multidisciplinary team player and a collaborative working style—communicate and work well in a team environment
  • 8+ years of overall business experience. 3+ years hands on experience in designing and implementing digital software solutions.
  • Ability to define, shape, and help drive strategy to completion while successfully collaborating with others under minimal direction/supervision.
  • Strong relationship-building skills, influencing internal and external partners with shared and divergent interests, function or flexible environment is required.
  • People management experience with the aim to build an organization and foster a culture of collaboration, inclusion and diversity.
  • Results driven and a self-starter attitude required

 

Education and Certification:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Computer Science is required, a Master’s in Computer Sciences or Technology Sciences is preferred.
  • Certification in Agile Methodologies is preferable.
