The Red Hat Customer Content Services (CCS) team is looking for a Senior Technical Writer to join our OpenStack documentation team in Ireland. In this role, you will promote customer loyalty and success through content development and delivery. Drawing from your passion for technology, you'll work closely with software engineers, quality experience, user experience, field teams, support engineers, and other subject matter experts to develop and manage the content that helps our customers succeed with Red Hat offerings and solutions. As a Senior Technical Writer, you will work with dynamic, fast-paced agile teams to bring to market new and exciting technologies.Work closely with content strategists, documentation program managers, engineering teams, support, and other stakeholders to create and maintain high-quality documentation

  • Effectively manage projects and deliver documentation that align with customer use personas, use cases, and company goals
  • Engage and collaborate with customer feedback programs to address content gaps, respond to feedback, and promote continuous improvement of the documentation experience
  • Serve as a domain expert on documentation best practices, provide expertise and vision, and collaborate cross-functionally to ensure that Red Hat customers enjoy exceptional content experiences
  • Work cross-functionally in upstream open source communities and within program teams, to guide improvements to the accuracy, usability, and clarity of documentation downstream
  • Keep up to date on changes of our offerings, customer use cases, and support issues
  • Gain expertise about the use of our internal documentation toolchain, including the publishing platform and issue tracking tools
  • Demonstrated expertise or experience with enterprise-level content development, publishing, maintenance, and management, especially related to software development
  • Familiarity with structured authoring, topic-based authoring, modular authoring, minimalism, docs as code, or similar content development tools and methodologies
  • Familiarity and interest in information architecture principles
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders to solve complex problems
  • Ability to collaborate in a global team environment, proactively engage subject matter experts, and follow through on commitments
  • Ability to inspire, mentor, or lead others, irrespective of job titles

The following will be considered a plus:

  • Experience with the software development life cycle, including an understanding of the customer life cycle and knowledge of different content development and publishing methodologies, tools, and defect tracking systems
  • Familiarity with version control systems, experience and comfort with Git
  • Experience with agile and rapid iteration releases
  • Demonstrated success taking accountability for project delivery and completion
