We're recruiting a Senior Technical Underwriter specialising in Commercial Property & Casualty to join our Commercial Underwriting Team. This is an excellent opportunity to work for one of Ireland’s leading insurance companies at an exciting time as we expand in Commercial Lines.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, this role will focus on supporting our expansion in the Northern Ireland Commercial Property and Casualty markets. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to work with multiple teams across the company and play a key role in the development of our Commercial business. The main responsibilities will include:
- Handling of complex technical referrals from other areas of the business
- Completion of Product reviews including development of action plans based on findings
- Risk Appetite reviews including development of action plans based on findings
- Analysis of portfolio with a view to optimising portfolio performance
- Supporting the development and maintenance of underwriting control framework
- Support management of AXA’s range of property and casualty products
- Lead and support projects to deliver new product innovation
- Lead and support projects to deliver Pricing & Underwriting sophistication
- Evaluation of potential opportunities to grow our Property and Casualty lines of business
- At least 5 years of experience in an underwriting/risk acceptance role
- Excellent knowledge of commercial property and commercial liability products
- Strong knowledge of the Northern Irish market including competitors, emerging initiatives and trends
- Working knowledge of Motor Fleet & Motor Trade products
- Cert CII (Essential), Dip CII, ACII, FCII and/or Business Degree
- Detailed understanding of underwriting, rating and acceptance criteria for relevant products
- Excellent report writing skills
- Excellent team player
