PrepayPower are seeking a Senior Hedging Analyst to join the Forward Trading Department.
Remote options and flexible working arrangements can be facilitated.
Main Responsibilities
- Manage our hedged position, track and report trades, and work with our finance team to monitor our exposures and commercial position
- Manage our in house ETRM system and be responsible for the maintenance and development of our trading risk and position management tools
- Lead the management of our credit exposures
- Assist management in the development and execution of hedge strategies
- Lead the production of board-level reports on our hedged position and trading activities
- Assist in the on-boarding of new counterparties and undertake relevant analysis
- Support spot market gas and electricity trading activities
- Assist management in developing our data structures and help enable efficiencies through automation of work
- Provide guidance and technical support to junior team members
- Support our industry presence by representing PrePayPower at relevant industry and regulatory events
- The role requires a small amount of travel and will require a limited amount of out of hours support

Skills and Experience
- The preferred candidate should have a background in the hedging of electricity or gas, with a strong focus on risk management and should preferably have experience in the ISEM market
- Candidates with similar commodity or financial hedging background will also be considered
- At least 6 years career experience with minimum of 2 years’ experience in hedging is desirable
- Excellent problem solving / creativity skills with an ability to make sense of large amounts of data, from both the top down and bottom up
- Wholesale Gas and / or Power market experience and understanding required (ISEM / GB or Europe)
- Should continually challenge own and others work
- Strong data handling or programming skills with at least strong excel skills but with experience in tools such as VBA, Python, SQL, Database management, and tableau highly desirable
- Strong attention to detail and the candidate should be able to deliver a high quality of information to a varied audience
- Ability to communicate in a structured, clear, and concise manner especially with management
- The candidate should be able to demonstrate an ability to influence and gain buy-in from peers and senior management
- Ability to follow, map and improve processes
- Strong team worker with ability to work on own as well under direction from management
- Ability to adapt to varying goals and changes in priority
