About the Team

Software QA Engineer: Debugs software products through the use of systematic tests to develop, apply, and maintain quality standards for company products. Develops, modifies, and executes software test plans. Analyzes and writes test standards and procedures. Maintains documentation of test results to assist in debugging and modification of software. Analyzes test results to ensure existing functionality and recommends corrective action. Consults with development engineers in resolution of problems. Provides feedback in preparation of technical appraisals of programming languages, systems, and computation software. Ensures quality computer integration into the overall functions of scientific computation, data acquisition, and processing.

About the Role

Workday is looking for an outstanding Quality Assurance Engineer to join Workday’s Absence Management team. This position requires a self-motivated professional with dynamic, hands-on functional QA testing experience. Candidates are expected to plan, design, and review test specifications and ensure full coverage based on functional specifications and requirements documents. This individual will be a primary contributor to the test effort for our Workday Enterprise Business Services offerings and, therefore, should be well versed in the QA of Enterprise Applications. Consideration will also be given to exceptional candidates with strong Absence Management knowledge and a proven track-record in areas such as Support, Consultancy or Payroll Management who wish to transition to a Quality Assurance role and who display an aptitude for and understanding of Software Quality Assurance.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in determining our test methodology and test data setup for Absence Management
  • Build regression and acceptance test scenarios.
  • Develop test plans and testware for capabilities of our Absence Management product
  • Execute testware during formal test periods for every Workday Update.
  • Provide regular status against your test plans.
  • Interact effectively with Product Management and Development.
  • Diagnose problems and report bugs and enhancements to Development.

About You

Qualifications:

  • A college degree in Business or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience.
  • Clear and effective communication skills.
  • Attitude and aptitude to be successful in a growing company.
  • 5+ years of experience working in a relevant field.
  • Proven experience with delivering high quality software products within a full development lifecycle.
  • Creative, organized and customer driven mindset.
  • Experience with Agile Methodology.
  • A passion for troubleshooting & problem solving is required.
  • High degree of attention to detail, with a passion for troubleshooting and problem solving.
  • Enthusiastic and confident with the ability to work with various different teams
