The BT Network Operations team is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our fun, innovative, hardworking team. This position is located in Dublin, Ireland. Working with an awesome group of highly qualified Network professionals, you will be part of a special team that supports the global corporate network for all workmates.

The BT Network Operations team consists of seven engineers in 3 different regions, North America, Asia Pacific, and EMEA. We are part of a larger, overall BT Network team which also includes Network Engineering and Infrastructure engineers. Together we work closely as one solid team. The Operations team assists with all new Engineering projects, so it allows everyone to be a part of the great work that is happening.

The ideal candidate will have a passion for problem solving, innovation, and customer service. This role requires a self-motivated professional that consistently brings a high level of dedication to Workday, customers, and workmates.

Responsibilities

  • Primary role will be to work with our growing team of Network engineers to support Workday's corporate network.
  • Provide outstanding operational support for all Wireless, Wired, and security network devices.
  • Think creatively and consider issues from a customer perspective; while bringing a pragmatic approach to solving issues.
  • Work with the regional operations teams to hand-off any ongoing issues and ensure issues are driven to full resolution.
  • Build and maintain technical design and support documentation in order to keep standards up to date.
  • Ability to work in a high trust and innovative environment where teamwork is crucial
  • Periodically travel to other Workday offices to work on network related issues or improvement projects as the need arises.
  • 2+ years of related Network Engineering/Administration and support experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related subject is a plus
  • Experience with switching/routing protocols, firewalls, VPN, wireless, IPAM, DHCP, and DNS are required
  • Familiarity with Cisco switches, Palo Alto Firewalls, Aruba wireless, Ansible, and Python is desired
  • Hands-on experience with the following is highly recommended: racking and stacking of network equipment, patching, circuit management, and inventory management
  • Excellent problem solving, debugging/troubleshooting skills. Don't have some of these skills. No problem, if you are happy to learn, we are happy to instruct you.
  • Excellent verbal communications and written documentation skills are required
  • Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment is a must
