What you will do :
- The Manager Cloud Engineering EMEA\APAC will serve as a senior leader in the Cloud Transformation team within the Johnson Controls Global IT Operations & Technology organization.
- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of hybrid cloud (Private and Public Cloud) engineering resources based in the JCI EMEA/APAC geographical region.
- The Cloud Infrastructure team at Johnson Controls has responsibility for driving strategy and delivery in both the Public & Private Cloud arena, so having a strong track record of delivering/managing successful application platform solutions in each of these technology domains will be essential.
- The ideal candidate will understand industry best practices and emerging technologies to help supports the Johnson Controls ‘Cloud-First’ approach to the delivery of future business applications.
How you will do it :
- The Manager Cloud Engineering EMEA\APAC will build strong relationships with the internal engineering and business community to ensure that the solutions delivered by the Cloud Hosting Team Americas meet the required business value for the JCI organization and be the escalation point for all cloud technical related issues…..by….
- Day-to-day management of cloud/on-prem technologists
- Owning the delivery (and relevant updates) of foundation architecture(s) for regional cloud delivery services both in Public Cloud and On-Premise Private Cloud deployments.
- Working with peer leaders across the geographic domains to help prioritize/align initiatives to ensure that technology investments are focused on areas with the highest business value.
- Implementing industry standard security practices during implementation and maintain it throughout the cloud delivery lifecycle.
- Advising and engaging with internal business units on their cloud application strategy roadmap
- Maintaining deep industry knowledge of the market for cloud services
- Building strong relationships with JCI’s strategic vendor partners.
- The candidate for the role of Manager Cloud Engineering EMEA\APAC will ideally have extensive experience of managing a team of senior technical resources with in-depth knowledge/experience of delivering cloud solutions & services on a large scale.
- This includes experience [but not limited to] of ….
- Leveraging Azure, GCP & IaaS/PaaS services
- Experience of large scale & complex global IT infrastructure design / delivery
- Knowledge of automation, devops implementation and service improvement initiatives.
- Knowledge of traditional on premise infrastructure architecture such as VMware, hypervisor, storage arrays, Network Security
- Knowledge of network design and implementation architectures
- Developing strategic partner relationships with some of world’s leading technology providers
- Helping prepare business cases for IT investments and presenting to governance bodies
Education/Background
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Certification with any of the top industry Cloud Providers – eg Azure, Google , - would be an advantage.
- 10 + Years’ Experience with managing staff in geographically diverse locations
- Extensive experience managing large projects/programs
