This area is responsible for researching, designing and implementing the full trading capability for the European office, using leading edge hardware and software technologies. A SIG Internship allows you to get involved with development teams that are competing at a world-class level in the financial sector.

Over the past 7 years, the Dublin technology team has grown to over 300 employees, doubling in size. SIG’s continued success will – in large part – be based on the capabilities provided to our traders by our team.

Core Responsibilities

  • Administration, Support and operation of complex IT systems and applications monitoring tools (elastic, splunk, Prometheus, grafana, check_mk, influx, graphite)
  • Contributing developer on existing in-house solutions & systems
  • Working with experienced engineers to create systems with a production end state in mind
  • Troubleshooting and support of Non-Performant and failing tasks/jobs/playbooks
  • Implementing automation tools and frameworks

Technical Skills

  • A strong level of understanding of TCP/IP protocol suite
  • Interest in Linux based operating systems
  • Understanding of IT infrastructure architectures types
  • Interest and experience in app containerization technologies
  • Interest and experience in configuration management and automation tools
  • A scripting language (python/powershell)
  • Interest in cloud technologies a plus
