Zurich Dublin Technology Center is looking for a Head of SAM Operations to run Software Asset Management operations with an objective to optimise software contract spend, manage compliance, analyse data, draw the relevant conclusions and then work with others to implement opportunities or remediate risks. This is a challenging role, requiring a broad understanding of IT technology, service management processes and the ability to collaborate with many different stakeholder groups within Zurich Group. 
GTO SW Asset Management comprises of an international team of SAM experts in three countries, managing a multi-million-dollar software portfolio and helping other IT stakeholders to achieve their objectives. This is a perfect opportunity for someone who would like to work at a groupwide level in defining and implementing 'Best Practice' methodologies related to SAM service.

Your Role

As a Head of SAM Operations your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

  • Provide forward looking direction for SAM specialists and ensure that SAM operation services are provided in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Manage budget, provide transparency of costs for SW contracts and assure fair allocation of charges to BUs and Service owners based on software usage.
  • Oversee the management of contractual agreements, proactively identify and drive initiatives to achieve savings, developing best practices and processes, to continuously improve software asset management service and to ensure compliance with budget and contractual requirements.
  • Identify necessary changes and play key role in the complex software contract negotiations, manage demand and contract updates, liaise with external vendors, legal, contract and sourcing teams.
  • Provide consulting advice and recommendations as SAM subject matter expert for IT projects and ensure that software and hardware solutions are optimised from cost and compliance standpoint.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • 7+ years of experience in developing and implementing asset management tools, frameworks and governance of which 3+ years in direct ownership of SAM service delivery.
  • Fluent spoken and written English. Knowledge of German is an advantage but not necessary.
  • Extremely strong organization and productivity skills, ability to interface with managers, staff and stakeholders within the organization.
  • Exceptional analytical skills, financial and commercial acumen.
  • Good time and project management skills.
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to process data and work in a complex global organisational environment.
