Job Software Developer/ Engineer/ Architect

Frontend Software Development Engineer

About the Role

This is a frontend engineer role within the User Success Platform team in Workday. Our mission is to help our 55+ million users become even more productive and to use Workday to its fullest extent.

We achieve this by using ML to discover how our software is being used and then provide guidance features to allow our users to successfully achieve their goals.

Under the hood, we use state of the art frontend frameworks like React to allow for rapid and scalable development of features that span the entire Workday product. On the data side, we capture billions of data points and use technology such as advanced data analytics to help tailor a unique guidance approach, allowing us to build a personalised UX for each individual end user.

Although our products run at a huge scale and against very strict SLAs, Workday’s best in class deployment infrastructure and processes allow for a great developer experience, with instant production deployment, short release cycles and rapid feedback on software that gets released.

We’re looking for someone who is excited about building industry leading applications that will be used by millions of users daily and passionate about the user experience. The successful candidate is also a team player who understands and promotes industry best practices, and who excels at finding interesting and innovative ways to build and test frontend code.

At Workday, we believe every potential recruit brings value to the table. Believe you are missing some of the skills and are hesitant to apply? We do not believe in the ‘perfect’ candidate and are happy to teach. So however you identify and whatever background you bring with you, apply and see what we are all about.

  • 3+ years software development experience in a role with a significant frontend focus.
  • You have industry experience designing performant, scalable web applications.
  • You’re very familiar with Javascript/HTML/CSS. React and/or Typescript experience would be a bonus.
  • You see software development as a team sport, and thrive in a highly collaborative, agile culture where you’re always teaching and learning.
  • You can own something from start to finish.
  • You understand the value of automated tests at all levels of the testing pyramid.
  • You have a strong desire to learn and improve at your craft.
