Role Summary:
The IT Enterprise Solutions Architect role engages across the IT teams designing robust and efficient IT solutions, providing design governance support, and defining new technologies and standards to meet evolving business requirements.
Primary Accountabilities:
This primary responsibility of this role is act as Solutions Architect for all new business and technology projects. The Solutions Architect is directly responsible to understand and meet business requirements and design high-quality IT solutions incorporating best-practice technology, connectivity, performance, scalability, availability, and security to meet the business requirements. Coupled with project-based activity, the role also sets strong IT standards, governance, and compliance across the areas of IT and business technologies.
The second responsibility of this role is acting as Enterprise Architect, matrix-reporting to Global IT, driving compliance, application portfolio rationalization, characterization, and reporting. The role also aligns new business applications and technologies through senior Global IT approvals boards and also influence global standards for the benefit of the business.
- Engage IT Leads and business teams in new project pursuits, consult and provide early direction-setting based upon research and global collaboration.
- Design of high-quality technology architectures and solutions that meet customer requirements and are consistent with enterprise architectural standards.
- Documents IT Architecture artifacts to enable project pursuit to move to project execution
- Creates net-new solutions in emerging technology areas to enable the business to evolve
- Works jointly with Global Technology Architecture and Technology Engineering teams to develop and deliver architectural strategies, standards, processes, and tools.
- Develops robust business cases and rationale to achieve global IT approval when introducing applications or technologies net-new.
- Represent the companies unique requirements and business priorities in global IT forums such as Enterprise Architecture, IT Technology and Application leadership groups.
- Evangelize standards across the teams and minimize divergence in technology portfolio.
- Operate across IT groups to drive adoption of proposals in multiple areas (Technology applications, Networks, Compute, etc.)
- Support the definition and selection of enterprise tools, technologies, and processes. Ensure representation from all stakeholders in the design of solutions.
- The role partners with IT leads and with solution designers from other disciplines and also partners with international level Architects in both the Applications Architecture and Technology Architecture organizations.
- IT/BIS qualification required
- 7+ years in IT Technology roles with strong expertise in delivery of solutions
- 3+ years of designing complex, best practice integrated IT solutions
- Strong technical acumen - Technologist-focused, strong domain knowledge in Infrastructure architecture, including compute, storage, backup and disaster recovery.
- Good knowledge of enterprise applications and databases networking, and cyber security architectures.
- Strong business acumen - Clear understanding of high-level business processes and needs, mapping to solution architecture rationale.
- Stakeholder management and engagement skills - ability to clearly articulate the value and rationale of the proposed solution to non-technical teams.
- Comfortable leading Solutions Design processes, resilient, ability to deal with ambiguity
- Proven record of learning new concepts/technologies to develop robust architectures
- Resilient and adaptable, self-initiative, and strong ownership
