About the Role

This role’s charter is to develop, build, deploy, and support security specific solutions and infrastructure to help protect Workday’s application services and data. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced, production focused organization. You will be working in a rapidly moving microservices environment where resilience and scalability are key non-functional requirements. This will require you to work effectively within your own team but also to coordinate with others in teams both locally and in other time zones.

  • You have a BS/MS in Computer Science/Engineering or a related technical field.
  • Automation, Resilience, Scalability, Performance are part of your everyday vocabulary at work.
  • 5+ years’ experience in Software development / DevOps.
  • Experience with Infrastructure automation (Terraform, Ansible, etc.), CI/CD pipelines (GIT, Jenkins etc), and configuration management tools (Ansible, Chef etc).
  • Experience in one or more programming/scripting - Python, Shell, Golang, Ruby.
  • Experience in virtualization technologies (VM or/and Docker) in a Linux environment.
  • Great problem-solving skills by looking across multiple layers (storage, OS, network, virtualization, and application / DB stack).
  • Experience in sysadmin, maintenance activities and on-call rotations.
  • Great communication skills, to be able to articulate to senior management and engineers alike.
