Chief Technology Officer (CTO)

Our client has an established track record of deep relationships with leading car manufacturers working with GM, Toyota and other across the globe. In addition to large OEMs they extensive range of clients large municipalities in Europe and the Americas. The business will be continuing to grow rapidly and under the CTO will continue to add headcount over the short and long term.  They are seeking an exceptional technical leader who is passionate about software, technology trends and the sharing economy. You should be someone who is comfortable interacting with the tech stack at every level, capable of operating in a dynamic, highly-paced environment, and committed to building a culture of innovation through experimentation. The leadership team is small (CEO, CTO, COO and CSO) and so you will be key to the growth of this company.  The client is an established but fast growing company and you will have the opportunity to be part of the decision making team that drives their success.

 

They’re looking for a talented technical leader that will lead the evolution of their technology and in turn solve their clients’ most complex business and technology problems. This senior role is positioned at the crucial intersection of car sharing technology and industry to help their clients reimagine their business through the latest technological advancement.  You will be working closely with OEMs on launching their car-sharing evolutions globally. Working with many of the global top 10 automotive manufactures to help leverage technology to drive mobility transformation. You will architect and lead the product development of a modern industry-leading carsharing platform; integrating with many telemetry devices and OEM connected vehicle technologies.

The Job

Set and communicate their technology vision, both internally and externally.  R&D/Product Development – working alongside Senior Management and engineers, collaborate to develop new products/improve tech offerings to customers.

Contribute to the development of company goals, training plans, service function, growth by being an active member of the leadership team and culture.

Understand the technical landscape, keep current with trends, guide and implement strategy around their products and own use of technology. Implement best practices to continuously improve software development, reliability, performance, scalability, maintainability and security to ensure their products and technology delivers for their customers.

Foster relationships with technology providers and partners to ensure technology portfolio provides combination of breed-of-breed and emerging solutions. Keep up-to-date with developments in SAAS, Cloud  and associated technologies and the customer and supplier market places. Some Pre-Sales and post sales engagement process with the clients.

roven experience as a CTO or in a similar technical leadership role.  Leadership experience and proven track record of managing people.

 

Extensive experience with large scale software development and modern software architectures.

Experience working across different stages of the IT sourcing life cycle including requirements gathering, evaluation, software development, commercial assessment, and negotiation.

Excellent communicator, ability to collaborate and integrate teams around a common mission.

 

Experience in scaling software teams and managing across the full software development lifecycle from new product development through to running highly scaled mission critical production solutions.

Proven Track Record in shaping and delivering software for technology-enabled transformation programmes. Experience working in a SAAS company an advantage. Experience working in a start up a major advantage.

Strong understanding of emerging and innovative technologies, and how to shape IT strategy and delivery in order to leverage those technologies. Develop and own company standards/policies around opensource, security and compliance.

 

Experience in scaling software teams and managing across the full software development lifecycle from new product development through to running highly scaled mission critical production solutions.

Experience of working as part of an executive team and/or reporting to boards or investors.
