Technical Compliance Manager

Candidate’s primary responsibility will be to ensure Elavon systems remain compliant with technical card association and government rules and regulations for the payment processing industry in all countries where Elavon has an existing footprint. 

Additionally, Candidate will be the subject matter expert and assist with defining business requirements and oversee certification of regulatory release projects, network upgrades, internal projects, card scheme product implementations as well as resolution of day-to-day production issues. 

The candidate should have a good comfort level working with technical systems and specifications; possess strong analytical, project management and communication skills; be results-driven and be a solid team player in addition to delivering results as an individual contributor.    

 

Key Activities & Responsibilities: 

  • Assist in formulating and developing both internal and external communications for scheme updates
  • Apply for and manage scheme variance requests in instances where the business is unable to meet scheme rules.
  • Assist is card scheme conversions/projects by ensuring all requisite paperwork is completed and submitted to the relevant parties in a timely manner.
  • Support the business function in implementing timely scheme changes to meet customer needs.
  • Coordinate out of hours system upgrades with the schemes and internal teams.
  • Oversee and manage technical compliance on projects initiated by Elavon, its partners, joint ventures or the card associations (Visa, MC, Discover, AMEX, Union Pay); ensure certification of systems; projects are completed as scheduled; and act as liaison between Elavon and card association.
  • Assist in managing and analyzing compliance initiatives for bi-annual technical system upgrades as they impact all departments with a more in-depth focus on frontend specifications (product, authorization & data capture).
  • Facilitates discussion regularly, and collaborates with business and technical subject matter experts (SMEs) to conduct root cause analysis of day-to-day production issues, identify resolution, and track progress
  • Assist in managing and analyzing all rules/regulations, monthly bulletins and member letters impacting acquirers
  • Analyze issues and work with the appropriate card association and S&T teams to resolve production problems in a timely manner to ensure minimal impact to Elavon and merchants
  • Experience with merchant acquiring, in particular, knowledge of authorization and/or clearing transactional flows
  • Technically astute to have the ability to deal with both technical and business groups within the organization as well as with payment networks and decipher/read technical specifications
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrated relationship-building and interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint,)
  • Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical environment in a Card Brand Association or Payment Processor environment. (Visa, MC, Discover, AMEX, Union Pay)
