Systems Platform Engineer, Web Platform Engineering

Web Platform Engineers primary deliverables are the building, supporting and troubleshooting of Java Run time environments. They need to work off the design provided by Technology Architects and deliver internet infrastructure solutions that satisfy member, product, service and backbone requirements. They should have a background in Linux and be able to work with openssl and keytool.

  • Builds, implements, and maintains support for Mastercard's systems/platforms for performance, efficiency, and capacity by analyzing and testing the facilities, and identifying/diagnosing performance issues (eg, middleware, compute & storage)

Responsibilities

  • Develops, builds, and maintains platform technologies, including associated software products
  • Assists in performing hardware and software implementations to ensure configuration, process, and procedure standards are in place
  • Supports holistic platform security posture which includes identifying risks, escalating potential concerns, and implementing both risk mitigation plans and control functions
  • Drafts and reviews status reports and performs implementation and troubleshooting activities, updating project plans as required
  • Provides high-level technical assistance to development programmers and customers to ensure proper system/platform performances
  • Implements business and process improvements, formulating recommendations to increase system/platform performance efficiencies
  • Experience developing and maintaining platform and software products
  • Participates in supporting an assigned global technology domain initiative, applying an awareness of global issues, challenges, and priorities
  • Participates in business resource groups and global communities
  • Experience advising internal partners on routine operational and engineering activities
