About the role
AIG’s Specialty business unit is a global product tower that encompasses Aviation, Marine, Trade Credit and Energy products. Each of these product lines has its own portfolio of applications that manage the insurance lifecycle from underwriting and claims to reinsurance and finance.
The role of the Specialty Solution Architect will be to work closely with the Specialty CIO and Specialty Business Leads to own and maintain the architectural roadmap for the portfolio while designing project solutions that align with AIG IT standards and patterns.
What you need to know:
- Working with CIO, Head of Architecture and Business Leads to own, manage and maintain a portfolio roadmap for the Specialty business units.
- Defining the solution architecture for projects in the Specialty business domain by understanding business requirements, non-functional requirements and Business strategy.
- Driving alignment and consistency of the solution design by working with the regional and global architecture teams.
- Owning and governing the solution design through the entire project implementation phase including guiding and mentoring the team.
- Producing all architecture related artifacts required as part of the SDLC.
- Effectively communicating the architecture to business and IT partners.
- Working with Project Managers, Scrum Masters and Business Analysts to contribute to high level project schedules, resource plans for the project, and project costs
- Supporting multiple concurrent project implementations where applicable.
- Engaging with in-country systems teams as necessary
- Other related tasks as assigned by the Company from time to time
- Extensive experience (analysis, design and construction) in systems development and integration in a multi-technology environment.
- Experience of Insurance Systems and concepts (underwriting, claims, reinsurance).
- Experience of designing and implementing solutions in a Cloud environment.
- Exposure to agile development methodologies.
- Experience in dealing with and managing IT vendors.
- Strong coordination and communications skills
- Ability to communicate with multiple stakeholders at senior levels
- Bachelor’s degree or higher
