We are looking to hire an IT Solution Architect to work with our Digital Business.

Reporting to Senior IT Architect, the focus areas for this role are
•    Responsible for the architecture of AXA Ireland’s digital estate; supporting the evolution of the Architecture and the migration to the Cloud (MS Azure PaaS).
•    Ensure compliance of solution architectural designs with the AXA target architecture and relevant AXA policies, such as security or change management
•    Closely works with all areas of IT and project teams to serve as the central point of communication for all decisions / questions around the architecture of the digital systems.
•    Liaise with business representatives to understand and support both the business strategy and the short-term needs of business
•    Support and enforce the AXA Architecture governance process and is responsible for the production and quality of the key artefacts.
•    Support the implementation of the AXA-Ireland Cloud strategy and the compliance with Group binding principles.
•    Support the transition of AXA IT to Agile methodologies.
•    Assess new technologies or alternate options by conducting proof of concept style investigations
•    Conduct reviews of existing solutions and identifies risks and potential improvements (e.g. cost, efficiency or simplification)
•    Engages with third parties where required

•    Strong interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiation; self-motivated
•    Excellent analytical skills
•    Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to describe solutions both on a technical and business level
•    Ability to translate business needs into IT Architecture requirements
 
Technical knowledge
•    Design of reliable, scalable, secure production web sites
•    Cloud concepts
•    Microsoft product stack (.NET and associated languages and frameworks, MS-Azure, VSTS,…)
•    Modern Web technologies, e.g.
o    Web apps on Azure
o    Common JS frameworks: React, Angular, JQuery,.
o    Bonus: Android or iOS apps
•    Security concepts (encryption, authentication, firewalls,), and mitigation of security threats (injection, DoS)
•    Service oriented and microservices architectures (ideally in a C# environment)
•    Architecture templates and concepts
•    Desirable:
o    Databases (relational), plus Common persistence frameworks for .NET: Entity Framework
o    Non-relational databases: e.g. NoSQL, document, key-value, graph
o    Big Data technologies, R, Python, Spark,
o    Network / infrastructure
o    TOGAF
