Our client based in South Dublin are looking for a Software Engineering Lead to join their team. Excellent opportunity to become part of a growing team, working out of their EMEA IT headquarters.
Job Responsibilities
- Work closely with the Business Systems Analyst and Architect to fully understand the requirements and the design accordingly.
- Ensure that a high standard of software delivery is carried out by the development team including code quality, reusability and scaling
- Be a thought leader in technical discussions on software and solution options to meet the business requirements across various projects
- Lead and guide the technical direction of a software development team
- Establish and apply modern digital and e-commerce software design that is capable of meeting a constantly changing industry and market
- Have an excellent ability to translate the various business requirements into system level designs and documentation
- Be heavily involved in identifying opportunities that can drive Continuous Improvement across the development team
Experience Required
- Must have good Technical Leadership experience from a work environment
- Knowledge of modern design principles
- Experience with MuleSoft / AWS Lambda based integration would be an advantage
- A strong background in designing technical solutions is a must
- Good experience with Agile SCRUM development is a must
- Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) environment experience is important
- A background of developing or working in an environment with Cloud-based tech such as AWS would be highly desired.
- Must have excellent communication skills and be strong at presenting, meeting facilitation, negotiation and decision making
Essential and Desirable Skills
- Bachelor’s Degree or MSc degree
- Minimum 7-8 years of experience in a similar role
- Must have experience working with Lean / Agile development methods
- Strong experience with web technologies: JavaScript, HTML5, CSS / Sass and market-leading frameworks (React is a preference but others considered also)
- 7+ years of working experience in Java or PHP
