Amazon Payments Security Engineering protects the environment that processes millions of transactions every day across numerous countries and payment methods. Over 100 million customers and merchants send tens of billions of dollars through our systems annually. We are re-inventing the vision of our platform to provide our internal clients such as Digital, Retail, AWS, B2B and others, the best payment gateway service, bench marked against the top external alternatives.

Amazon’s Payments Security Engineering is looking for an experienced software manager that will drive the development of designing, building, maintaining and operating the platforms that supports Amazon.com's global payment systems.

You will own and be responsible for developing and managing a high performing team that is building Amazon’s next generation payments platform.

You bring strong leadership, great judgment, clear communication skills, and strong track record of delivery and hiring/coaching.

As a part of this role, you will:
· Build and manage a team of industry-leading software engineers
· Foster career growth and a strong team culture
· Recruit, hire, mentor, and coach technical staff
· Work cross-functionally, interfacing with internal customers to understand requirements, set priorities and communicate direction and progress
· Own all operational metrics and support for your team’s software
· Manage the agile development process and methodology to deliver incremental value to customers
· Work with product management to develop long-term architectural and business strategy

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
· Strong CS fundamentals in object-oriented design, data structures and algorithms
· 7+ years of software industry experience
· 3+ years of managing software development teams
· Highly motivated self-starter with bias for innovative thinking
· Excellent written and oral communication skills
· Excellent business judgement

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· 5+ years managing software development teams
· Experience building highly-scalable, extensible software systems delivering significant customer value
· Strong information security risk-based prioritization abilities
· Track record of hiring and developing top tier engineers
· Proficiency in professional software engineering practices & best software development life cycle practices, including architectural design, coding standards, code reviews, build practices, testing, and operations
· Experience communicating with users, other technical teams, and senior management to collect requirements, describe software product features, technical designs, and product strategy
