Software Developer (AWS)

My Dublin-based client is rapidly expanding their international customer base and shows no signs of stopping. As a result, they are further developing their software and data solutions and now require a Software Developer with excellent AWS and DBA skills to join the team. This varied role is perfect for someone who would enjoy a mix of software development & maintenance (70%) and database management (30%).

Challenging projects, a collaborative team environment, and excellent benefits package are just some of the perks on offer. All employees in the company are currently working remotely but will return to the office for 3 days a week post-Covid19, when it is safe to do so.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist with the development, maintenance, and improvement of cloud-based software and tools.
  • Develop and implement new solutions as well as maintain and improve existing solutions within a complex production environment.
  • Respond to support requests from the core business function and resolve their technical and database issues in a timely manner.
  • Carry out database management activities, including: ETL development, SQL query tuning, stored procedure creation, database schemas, etc.
  • Utilise modern technologies and cloud solutions to enhance the company’s technological capabilities.

Experience Required

  • 3-10 years’ commercial experience in software engineering
  • Strong experience in AWS is essential
  • Advanced database skills – ETL, scraping, data cleansing
  • Proven track record of using different technologies or an interest in experimenting with different tools
  • Previous experience working in fast-paced data environments / industries would be ideal

Technical Skills

  • Databases: SQL, MySQL, Oracle
  • AWS cloud solutions (RDS, S3, VPC, CLI scripting)
  • ETL tools (DMS, Glue)
  • Other (Django, AWS Quicksight)

Educational Requirements

  • Third level degree in Computer Science or another related field
