Role:
We are currently seeking to hire a Software Consultant to join our team based in Dublin 2. This role would suit someone from a Computer science, Software Development or Software Engineering background with strong writing skills who can utilise their scientific/technical knowledge to assist companies with the preparation of the scientific/technical aspects of R&D tax credit claims.
We ideally need you to have the following on your CV:
- Third level degree, preferably Master or PhD level in software engineering, Computer Science, Computer Programming, Software Architecture, Software Development or equivalent.
- 1 year experience in research and development projects in the industry or in academic environment would be a bonus.
- 1 year experience working in a programming environment in the software industry is ideal. In particular, a basic knowledge and experience working throughout the software development lifecycle and basic programming with modern software development tools and/or environments will be a bonus
- Demonstrable technical report writing skills.
- Good communication skills, exceptional oral and written communications capabilities.
- Ability to communicate effectively and comfortably with our clients’ R&D teams.
- Willingness to assume significant responsibility, ownership and accountability.
- Time management skills as well as the ability to work independently and handle multiple client projects simultaneously.
Your work will be varied. Below will be some of your core responsibilities:
- Assisting the R&D team in providing advice to our software clients in relation to the eligibility of activities for the R&D tax credit, including attendance to meetings, liaising with clients’ technical leads, and review of internal documents.
- Researching and resolving queries both general and client specific in relation to the scientific/ technical aspects of the R&D tax credit
- Gather technical information from our clients’ R&D teams and drafting technical reports detailing qualifying R&D projects.
- Planning, organising and executing R&D engagements on time and within budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with our clients.
Prior experience with the R&D tax credit is NOT necessary. KPMG will provide the successful candidate with specialised training on the R&D tax credit scheme.
