ORBCOMM is a leading global provider of industrial Internet of Things (IoT) and Machine-to-Machine (M2M) communication solutions that remotely track, monitor and control fixed and mobile assets.

Our business telematics solution includes apps on Android mobile devices which need to be managed through our Enterprise Mobility Management (EMM) solution.

We are looking for a Senior Software Integration Engineer to join our software product development team in Galway. You should have a strong interest in technology, enjoy problem solving, be willing to take initiative and drive change. This is a demanding but rewarding position for someone with significant development expertise who can self-manage your projects and lead others.

You will:

  • Integrate with various APIs to produce internal facing software products
  • Be responsible for creating tooling that works with our EMM software
  • Produce state of the art technical designs, software, tests and document assets
  • Advocate and drive automation of manual processes
  • Be a strong advocate of good agile development practices – code reviews, automated test, continuous integration, continuous delivery
  • Work closely with our EMM Team Lead to monitor, manage and maintain EMM infrastructure

What we’d love for you to bring to the table:

  • A passion for using technology to make a difference to people and organisations. We'll supply some amazing tools to help you with this and you'll provide the connection to use cases, which make it real for your customers.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in a pre-sales context.
  • The ability to create and give technical presentations and demonstrations.
  • Experience with some of the following technologies:
  • Big Data (specifically Streaming),  Data Warehousing or Relational Databases
  • One or more of the three major cloud service providers (AWS, Azure or GCP). Formal certification is not required, but would be a great thing to have
  • Data Engineering, Data Science or Machine Learning
  • Operations, Security and Data Governance within the enterprise
  • Python, Java, Scala, Unix or Linux
  • Experience gathering and understanding customer business requirements
  • Problem solving skills , excellent written and verbal communication
  • A willingness to learn, a curiosity to discover and a drive to make your customers successful
  • German & English speaking is a requirement
