My Dublin-based client has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join their expanding team. This tech company delivers innovative software solutions to the music and entertainment industry. They now require an experienced Software Engineer to assist in building the backend services for a brand new B2C application that is taking the industry by storm.

Ideal for a Software Engineer with 4+ years’ experience programming in Python across different platforms, particularly mobile applications. A passion for the music industry would also be a bonus!

The preference is for this role to be permanent; however, the client would also consider contractors who have the right skills and are willing to commit at least 6 months to the project.

Job Responsibilities

• Build, test, and maintain web and mobile applications whilst mapping designs against the existing blueprint and backend infrastructure.
• Get involved in the entire development process including requirement gathering, designing, debugging, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with app development, product management, and design teams across the globe to share ideas and deliver the product to the highest standard.
• Utilise your expertise to identify innovative ways of streamlining and enhancing performance.

Experience Required

• 4+ years’ experience as a full stack software engineer
• Excellent programming experience using Python is essential
• Proven track record of delivering solutions across different platforms (particularly mobile, but also web, cloud, etc)
• Some front-end experience (JavaScript, HTML)

Essential and Desirable Skills

• Strong Python skills in both an educational and commercial capacity
• Excellent understanding of different platforms, especially mobile applications
• A tech hobbyist who has dabbled in different languages (e.g. JavaScript, C, Ruby, Erlang, Go, Rust, Java, etc)
• Ability to handle complexity and lots of elements (e.g. algorithms, messaging systems)
• Curious and inquisitive about learning new technologies and tackling the unknown
• Knowledge of signal processing, FFTs, or audio encoding would be highly desirable but not essential
