WHAT TO EXPECT
In this position, you will be part of the Advance Driver Assisted Software community where you will be working on the development of the next level of vehicle features. You will be part of a team that work from the design and system requirements stage to vehicle production stage, which includes system analysis, functional safety analysis, risk and mitigation strategies, application software, embedded software, diagnostics and continuous validation. All of these areas are targeted at feature development, perception, fusion, prediction, planning and control strategies.
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be helping to develop production solutions for future vehicles with assisted and automated driving features. You will be responsible for writing scalable code that will be creating changes to the product, as well as writing testable code. This code will include test automation against manual testing, and will define how many lines of code within a feature are already covered, by use of automated tests against those that are tested manually.
You will be responsible for the development of software for new Jaguar Land Rover ECUs. The code you will be writing could range from vehicle level across multiple ECU’s to single ECU level, depending on the product. You will be working in a diverse environment with an Agile structure to develop the next generation of assisted and automated driving features.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
You will be someone that has an extensive knowledge of Systems Architecture and development. In addition to this, you will also have a wealth of experience of feature development using C++.
You will have technical experience of C/C++ Virtualisation and Operating Systems including Linux, as well as possessing significant knowledge of software structure and architecture. As software development is a big part of this role, you will need a strong knowledge of the process and industry tool set, as well as having the ability to technically define, develop and maintain software.
In this position you will need to have a strong knowledge of electronics hardware platforms and hardware from silicon upwards. You will need to know how to define system variability, error handling and robustness processes.
