This is an exciting opportunity to join an expanding team of Data Scientists and Data Engineers! You will have the unique chance to support BT Sourced in Google cloud services (from Data Infrastructure to AI/Machine Learning products) to develop end to end production pipelines. You will also be exposed to a rich variety of data products and business cases, ranging from supply chain data to customers market and utilities (to name a few) supporting our data driven strategic negotiation business and helping our 0 carbon emission ESG agenda.

Responsibilities

• Manages, builds and maintains multi-structured databases and data layers serving development and production environments.
• Supports Data Science initiatives by managing, building robust and scalable data pipelines.
• Supports building of production level algorithms serving diverse deployment end-points.
• Responsible for designing and building ETL/ELT frameworks.
• Leads the Data Engineering function within the analytics team.
• Assists with planning and monitoring of all data science related activities from scoping to production.
• Develops strong working relationships with a range of cross-functional stakeholders to ensure alignment over data governance, project pipeline and team’s vision.
• Influences and supports the organization towards a growing data and digital driven mindset.
• Leads any data engineering activity as required by the team.
• Build a Data Engineering team and mentors new joiners.

• Minimum 8 years of experience as a Data or Software Engineer, with a good understanding of Data Science and Machine Learning.
• Experience building and managing a team of software developers (Agile framework).
• Provides clear direction and objectives.
• Experience delivering solutions in a DevOps framework.
• Experience in delivering solutions in a production set-up.
• Passionate about data and excited to experiment the newest and best technologies in the industry.
• Deep understanding of the cloud computing services (GCP preferable) – particularly aspects such as data ingestion, CI/CD and containerized scalable deployment.
• Experience designing and creating API interfaces.
• Strong experience with multi-structured databases.
• Proficient in Python and at least another programming language (e.g. SQL, Scala, Java).
