Senior Cloud Full Stack Technical Lead

The Cloud DevOps/SRE team is responsible for developing products and services that directly support driving DevOps and Site Reliability Practices in the General Motors private Cloud ecosystem. The team’s focus is on transitioning Cloud development to a service led model, frictionless delivery model with full tool chaining integrated with DevOps Pipelines, SRE Error budget management, TDD, CI/CD, Mono Repositories, balanced team structures, containers, Docker and Kubernetes, Scaled Agile, etc. If you are looking to work with cutting edge technology with industry led DevOps practice and be a part of an innovative team – this position may be for you.

The ideal candidate will be a software engineer technical lead with the ability to code and/or a software developer technical lead with the capability to guide design/architecture. Additionally, will need to provide guidance around their objectives and not simply be an “order-taker” of solution design. This role requires the ability to drive the agile process, domain driven microservices, monitoring and testing, TDD, Contract Testing CI|CD; teach high quality code practices/reviews focused on use of best patterns and correcting anti-patterns.

The role involves:

  • Primary Development Languages will include: Java, Python, Angular, React and SQL
  • Other tools: Microsoft Azure/TFS for Backlogs, CI/CD Pipelines, git, JUnit, PyUnit, Jasmine, Karma, SoapUI, Docker,
  •  Kubernetes, Artifactory, Maven, SonarQube, Fortify, BlackDuck, Selenium, PCF and others
  • Working in a scaled agile environment leveraging SCRUM and disciplined DevOps principles
  • Provides guidance and mentoring of fellow software developers and other team members
  • Possess technical writing knowledge around system design specification and user documentation of software systems and ensure that technical documentation meets GM standards
  • Understand and maintain compliance with GM standards and industry standard methodology
  • Holds themselves and others accountable for demonstrating GMs values and cultural behaviors. Models GM behaviors and builds a winning culture.
  • Minimum 7 years of professional software development experience
  • Good understanding of software development best practices
  • Using Angular, SQL, Java, building REST Services with Spring
  • Using SCRUM, TDD, Trunk Based Development, CI/CD Pipelines, PCF and DevOps tools
  • Significant hands-on training and work experience in development projects for Private-Cloud Services
