Senior Agile Practitioner

The Red Hat Products and Technologies (PnT) team is growing and we are looking for an experienced Senior Agile Practitioner to join our Agility and Continuous Improvement team. In this role, you will collaborate closely with the best engineers, product owners, product managers, and other agile practitioners in the open source community to create innovative technology that underpins mission-critical workloads for our varied customer base. You will work with the OpenStack and Ceph teams who create a cloud platform and a storage solution for modern data pipelines. As an experienced professional, you will serve as a coach and an agile and transformation champion who enables continuous improvement in the teams and our organization, where we focus on respectful adoption of agility through the identification and resolution of existing challenges rather than implementation of specific frameworks. Successful applicants must reside in a country where Red Hat is registered to do business.

What you will do

  • Coach several cross-functional and distributed teams with the focus on agile mindset, values, and principles
  • Establish collaborative partnerships with the teams to guide and encourage them on their journey of continuous improvement
  • Introduce new ideas and processes which improve team collaboration, effectiveness, performance, productivity, and overall contentment
  • Define key metrics that show the progress of the transformation effort, including dashboard reporting, and educate stakeholders on interpreting and utilizing the metrics
  • Provide training for teams in areas where agile concepts are new or are not followed
  • Establish and support a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised
  • Facilitate discussion, decision making, and conflict resolution
  • Support product owners and product managers, especially with respect to defining priorities and maintaining a product backlog
  • Contribute to product roadmap planning, project scheduling, and release management
  • Coach other leaders on agility and continuous improvement
  • Facilitate cross-team collaboration and coordination through reaching out to the larger organization for impediment removal
  • Collaborate closely with other agile practitioners to influence and transform the organization with respect to technical enablement, lean coaching, training delivery, or strategic alignment
  • Work fully remotely with teams who are distributed across multiple time zones
  • Demonstrated record of coaching teams at varying maturity levels on using agile and lean methods and delivering software products to production
  • Data-driven analysis skills for managing and measuring software delivery
  • Great facilitation skills with demonstrated ability to influence change
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with Jira or other agile life cycle management tooling
  • Any of the following certifications: Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), or equivalent training

The following will be considered a plus: 

  • Bachelor's degree in a STEM field, or combination of relevant education and experience

  • Knowledge of Red Hat products, open source software development, IT products, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)
