Security Engineer

Primark Technology has embarked on a transformation journey to support our business strategy which includes modernising our operating model as well as our technology architecture. We will use the latest technologies to do things smarter, better and faster and are looking for an ambitious Security Engineer who can innovate with our strategy in mind.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Build and maintain expert knowledge and understanding of our security technologies, building the delivery of process and system improvements, proactively seeking continuous improvement supported with plans, ensuring best practices are incorporated
  • Supporting the wider teams in improving data accuracy by implementing controls, automation, and reporting in our tooling and metrics
  • Enforcing standardised and consistent processes, troubleshooting, and best practice applied to current capabilities
  • Giving recommendations and advice on the technical feasibility of the cyber security solutions
  • Influencing cyber security planning, requirements, design, implementation, Independent Verification and Validation, and tooling decisions through discussion, presentations, reviews, and written communication
  • Coordinating and implement Standard Operating Procedures and change control for infrastructure and application support
  • Ensuring a stable tool environment for primary cybersecurity monitoring tool suite
  • Trouble shooting and resolve technical issues

Skills & Experience:

  • 5+ years large enterprise cybersecurity IT experience, ideally with significant Cloud and DevOps exposure
  • An appropriate degree, equivalent qualification or experience
  • A recognised security certification is desirable
  • In-depth understanding of cybersecurity and its application in the engineering of complex systems.
  • Strong appreciation and adherence to engineering processes, defined roles and responsibilities, and high-quality delivery
  • Experience of working in multi-skilled engineering teams
  • Experience in the e2e life cycle of engineering complex systems, including processes and responsibilities at each stage in the cycle
