We’re seeking Software Engineers to join the Privacy Engineering team at Pinterest! As a member of the team, you will design algorithms and develop next-generation privacy technologies that impact how we collect, use, store and share user data. You’ll work cross functionally and touch on all stages of the data lifecycle, build tooling, and product enhancements. You’ll partner with engineering, legal, product, and business teams to ensure data handling is aligned with the law, our philosophy, and our privacy policy.
What you’ll do:
- Design and build privacy-preserving algorithms and systems using techniques such as cryptography and differential privacy
- Work directly with software engineers to review or implement parts of the code
- Perform design reviews and ensure potential privacy vulnerabilities are discovered and remediated during the design process
- Collaborate with other parts of the organization and provide privacy engineering expertise and guidance
- Promote and encourage a privacy-conscious culture
- 4+ years of experience in privacy engineering, privacy-preserving data collection, differential privacy, data aggregation or other privacy related software engineering roles
- Strong software development knowledge, with a proven track record in developing production quality software. Deep knowledge developing and debugging in Python, Java or Javascript
