We are recruiting for a Security Architect to join our IT Team.  The successful candidate will work as a Security Architect to technologies and projects, to develop, implement and maintain the Security within Musgrave.  You will be a Senior member of the information security team, to operate and maintain the security environment. You will also provide to the wider IT group a deep understanding of security requirements in line with Musgrave policies.

As Security Architect you will be responsible for (not limited to):

  • Operate and manage various security appliances
    • Firewall
    • WAF
    • SSL Decryption Solutions
  • Ongoing security improvement planning:
    • Determine security requirements by evaluating business strategies and requirements
    • Researching information security standards.
    • Conducting or engaging with partners to conduct system security and vulnerability analyses and risk assessments.
    • Studying architecture/platform; identifying integration issues
    • Preparing cost estimates
  • Provide Security solutions architectural support to application and infrastructure teams.
  • Maintain, design, architect, and review on-prem and cloud solutions
  • Develop and continuously improve the cloud security model and posture of external application
  • Advise in the cloud cost models and the implications of all recommendations
  • Enhance security in the software development life cycle (SDLC) as the organization evolves towards DevSecOps
  • Ensure security logging and monitoring is appropriately designed and implemented
  • Upgrade security systems by monitoring security environment; identifying security gaps; evaluating and implementing enhancements
  • Support the design and deployment of security services, products, and applications.
  • Develop and consult on security policies, standards, and procedures
  • Actively develop and maintain expertise to function as subject matter expert in one or more security disciplines
  • Know and effectively communicate best-practice approaches to application, infrastructure, and development teams for confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
  • Produce high-quality architecture specifications, white papers, technical documentation, roadmaps and presentation materials
  • Point of contact for all security matters within the business
  • Responsible for Technology Security signoff and the associated closeout / risk handling
  • Develop strong partnerships within the business, application developers, software vendors and other technical resources
  • Support the security incident response function within the organisation
  • Support security team members and provide guidance on security case resolution
  • Enhance Security Team accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions, answering technical and procedural questions.
  • Advise and educate on security modelling, secure design, and vulnerability remediation

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  • 4 years’+ experience designing, recommending and reviewing security controls for complex applications and services
  • Expertise in multiple of the following domains: Security Infrastructure, Cloud Architecture, Web Frameworks, Identity and Access Management.
  • Understanding of
    • DDOS mitigation technologies
    • Network security architecture
    • WAF policies
    • Azure Cloud
    • Checkpoint/Cisco Firewalls
    • Load Balancing/ SSL Decryption
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organised, structured and performance driven
  • Strong relationship and collaboration skills
  • Personable, pro-active, professional and able to demonstrate full commitment to exceptional outcomes
  • A degree or relevant experience in Cyber Security or related discipline
