We are looking for a Quality Technician to join the quality team of Hiab's Truck Mounted Forklifts Division on a 12 month fixed-term contract. The purpose of the position is to support the production department in achieving the scheduled output requirements by conducting measuring and testing procedures, completing inspections, supplier returns and associated tasks.
This position reports to David Maguire, Quality Manager and is part of Hiab’s Truck Mounted Forklifts division. The location of this position is Dundalk, Ireland.

Main tasks and responsibilities:

• Ensure that all aspects of the incoming inspection process are effectively completed
• Document the status of inspections and communicate results to suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Support Production & Quality activities to improve the overall Product Quality
• Carry out calibration of monitoring & measuring devices as required
• Prioritise and complete incoming inspection of material to support PPAP / NPD / ECO processes
• Conduct assigned internal audits
• Support inspection of sourcing project material
• Log supplier claims on sourcing navigator and complete material returns
• Support the Material Review Board with regular reviews of nonconforming material.

• Relevant third level qualification (preferably in a mechanical discipline)
• Minimum three years’ experience in a quality function
• Strong experience from a mechanical industry and assembly operations
• Must be able to read and understand technical drawings
• Must be familiar with measurement tools e.g. Vernier’s / Micrometers / Height Gauges / Measurement arm etc.
• High degree of computer literacy including MS office / Google tools / LN
• Good understanding of Mechanics / Hydraulics / Electrics
• Team player with ability to work on own initiative
• Strong attention to detail.
