Procurement Manager (Software)

We’ve set up a brand-new company, called BT Sourced, to manage BT’s entire multi-billion-pound global sourcing operation. And we’re looking for the right talent to help us do it. This is a very exciting time within the IT category at BT Sourced. You will manage the software category and will be an integrate part of BT’s technology major transformation project, sourcing the most advanced and cutting-edge software and products in the tech industry today. You will also have the chance to grow and develop your own style, working strategically within a collaborate team and stakeholders.

You'll have the following responsibilities

Accountable for ERP software for Group CFU/CU.

  • Accountable for commercial strategy & structuring and negotiating supplier contracts to underpin and transform the Group software estate.
  • Accountable for managing commercial & risk management complexities for BT’s  digital transformation project
  • ExCo Level Relationships with strategic suppliers
  • Build and maintain category expertise, apply best practices around sourcing approach, supplier selection, total cost of ownership and negotiation tactics

Operational

  • Identify business improvements leveraging the commercial, design and process to minimise the Total Cost of Ownership
  • Collaborate with regional and industry teams, execute, and deliver category plan & sourcing activities against key metrics, ensure relevance and adoption to each CFU and vertical with the support of B2B & Customer Solutions
  • Adhere to procurement processes and activities with other procurement teams
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to deliver the business objectives and key transformational programmes
  • People
  • Manage and develop the capability of direct reports, and support functional development in the UK and India

ACTIVITIES

  • Category management for ERP Software
  • Manage and deliver category spend and performance, develop and deliver category plan and long-term values, implement business improvements through optimising commercial, design and process levers that minimise the Total Cost of Ownership
  • Drive and deliver end-to-end sourcing projects including complex contractual and pricing models
  • Develop and deliver policies and frameworks underpin products and service delivery
  • Collaborate with regional category teams, and ensure category plan implementation at a regional level
  • Maintain internal and external networks, to ensure buy in and improvements of customer value and Total Cost of Ownership
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers, negotiate commercial and contractual arrangements utilising the latest contracting tools, templates and terms and conditions, ensure required performance and contractual obligations are met, while incorporating innovative improvement initiatives
  • Manage and develop a team of procurement professionals to deliver brilliant outcomes for BT and our customers
  • Deliver business partnering services to key CFUs / CUs
  • An expert in Software Procurement
  • Operates as a contributor/negotiator to ensure the provision of a world class procurement service that delivers competitive advantage to BT Group.
  • Ability to manage complex, strategic and commercial requirements between BT and Suppliers to transform the ERP software estate.
  • Proven ability to maintain an excellent network to keep abreast of innovations in the supply market and stakeholder vision.
  • Experience as a leader within the Procurement function, with strong leadership skills and the ability to collaborate and deliver through high performance teams
  • Proven experience managing ExCo Level Relationships with Strategic Suppliers
  • Demonstrates a track record of decision-making capability and deliver against key metrics
  • Strong relationship management skills & ability to influence decision making with senior stakeholders within a matrixed environment
  • Experience in business partnering and supplier relationship management
  • Demonstrates strong continuous improvement skills that exceeds customer expectations
