ABOUT JOB

Cloudera Partner Solutions Engineers are the technical leaders in the Global Channel and Alliances Team.  

We’re a close-knit group and work extensively with  the overall Cloudera Team specifically with our partners which gives us the opportunity to grow our personal reputation both internally and externally in the data community. 

Working with our Partner Ecosystem we are responsible for securing the technical win in each sales opportunity and for building an ongoing relationship with our partner and customers to ensure their business success with Cloudera technologies. 

The impact you will have:

  • Own the technical sales process from introductory meetings (net new sales) through post-sales (customer satisfaction, upselling, and subscription renewals) with our partners.
  • Enabling our Partners on Cloudera Technologies in a way that inspires your partners to articulate our value proposition to new and existing customers.
  • Partnering with your Partner Sales Managers to show your partners and customers the true value of a Cloudera solution and drive successful sales.
  • Presenting product roadmap and vision to inspire your partners to think bigger
  • Define and design new solutions combining the best of the Partner and Cloudera Technologies offer best of breed products to your customers.
  • Advocating for your partners’  needs internally to Product Management and Engineering.
  • Participating in external publicity and evangelism (conferences, meetups, webinars, blogs)
  • Interfacing with other Cloudera teams to ensure your partners and customers hear one Cloudera voice 

Achievements are aligned to a team goal with annual sales targets, as well as to your participation in knowledge exchange with peers and the wider community.

What we’d love for you to bring to the table:

  • A passion for using technology to make a difference to people and organisations. We'll supply some amazing tools to help you with this and you'll provide the connection to use cases, which make it real for your customers.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a customer-facing role, ideally in a pre-sales context.
  • The ability to create and give technical presentations and demonstrations.
  • Experience with some of the following technologies:
  • Big Data (specifically Streaming),  Data Warehousing or Relational Databases
  • One or more of the three major cloud service providers (AWS, Azure or GCP). Formal certification is not required, but would be a great thing to have
  • Data Engineering, Data Science or Machine Learning
  • Operations, Security and Data Governance within the enterprise
  • Python, Java, Scala, Unix or Linux
  • Experience gathering and understanding customer business requirements
  • Problem solving skills , excellent written and verbal communication
  • A willingness to learn, a curiosity to discover and a drive to make your customers successful
  • German & English speaking is a requirement
