Operations Service Reliability Engineer

As the Automation Tech Ops SRE you will work in the DevOps / SRE Capability within the Automation Operations Team. This is part of the overall Automation Team which is delivering/maintaining automation at scale for one of the largest HealthCare company of the world. Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) combines software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale, massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. On the SRE team, you’ll have the opportunity to manage the complex challenges of scale, while using your expertise in coding, algorithms, complexity analysis and large-scale system design.

Within the role you will be hands on supporting our automation systems, the customers and also the Tech Operations team.  Primary Responsibilities

  • Support and Maintain Infrastructure for the Tech Operations team using configuration management tools and with an “Infrastructure as Code” mind set.
  • Perform Information Technology Service Management (ITSM) tasks without supervision. Able to provide direct feedback to improve ITSM processes. Provide end-to-end support on multiple platforms.
  • Leverage modern tools and instrumentation to drive reliability and meet Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
  • Utilize scripting & development skills to reduce operational man-hours and reduce time to restore for incidents. This should include implementing practices and tools that support Agile and Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) principles.
  • Review issues, logs, errors, etc. to troubleshoot service tickets supporting a suite of tools used by end users.
  • Ensure security of the environment by managing/applying permissions and encryption standards.
  • Deliver professional level technical work in support of the development of products, tools, platforms and services.
  • Create complex architecture design models that describe enterprise solutions that both conform to enterprise standards and advocates for modern technology and best practices.
  • Complete tasks with minimal guidance and oversight, and review work of others.

  • Working Knowledge of Cloud, preferably Azure
  • Proficient in one or more Scripting Languages (Python, PowerShell or Go)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD – Deployment pipelines, and automated build and configuration tools using Jenkins or Azure Dev-ops.
  • Support and Maintain server (Windows/Linux) using Configuration Management Tools.
  • Strong knowledge of IT/technical infrastructure practices and functional units
  • Experience designing and building highly distributed, reliable systems
  • Extensive knowledge in using SQL Databases (SQL Server, PostGre-SQL )
  • Working Hands-On Knowledge of REST-API
  • Experience with establishing and managing against metrics (KPI’s, Raw Error Rate, Response time, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferable experience as a Site Reliability Engineer
  • Building and managing Docker containers and Kubernetes for scaling services infrastructure
  • Working knowledge with .NET (C# as a language)
  • Experience with Elastic Search or Splunk or Grafana
  • Experience with TICK Stack.
  • Proficient experience with Github or any other Source Control
  • Proficient in Documenting the work preferably using GitHub Pages, MKDocs or MS-Word.
