We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to join Hiab's Operations team. The purpose of the position is to sustain and develop technical aspects in the value stream, drive productivity improvements, including implementation of new manufacturing techniques and digitalization. Position holder will define and improve standard work in the value stream. Manufacturing Engineer owns ERP Master Data, BOMs and standard times. This position is located in Dundalk, Ireland and you will report to Production Engineering Supervisor.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
- Maintain ERP system BOMs – routings and standard times
- Define standard work and standard operating procedures, support team to create and update new SOPs
- Work with value stream manager/leader to develop the support structure including information flow and systems, and process reviews.
- Introduction of NPI process, provide input on DFM/DFA, SOPs, ERP routing and standard times in conjunction with R&D and the NPI team
- Coordinate implementation of engineering changes and the change processes/setup of new parts both lineside and in ERP.
- Creation and use of the value stream map so as to aid productivity
- Responsible for Cell design and line layout in line with the VSM and VSLs
- Lead Kaizen events within the value stream as required, to include value stream mapping, line balancing.
- Lead the training and implementation of lean manufacturing tools and concepts including 6S, Six Sigma, Total Productive Maintenance etc.
- BSc Degree in Engineering related discipline or similar experience
- Strong experience from mechanical industry and assembly operations
- Systems (ERP) knowledge
- Working knowledge LEAN principles (such as Six Sigma)
- Project management
- Knowledge and awareness of modern manufacturing methods and tools
- Strong technical understanding of manufactured products and their functionality
- Collaborative solution driven approach
- Engineering drawing tools (Computer Literacy, particularly in Google suite, experience in Microsoft Visio and Autocad/Solidworks/Pro-E(Creo).
