This role of Localisation Engineer will involve working closely with your Research, Product, and Engineering colleagues to manage their translation needs.

  • Investigate & fix localisation bugs.
  • Manage localisation projects.
  • Maintain relationships with external language vendors and internal teams.
  • Identify and create solutions to optimise our localisation processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and collaborate with partners when driving tool fixes and enhancements.
  • Advise on translation memories and new localisation technologies.

What we’re looking for...

We are looking for someone proactive and that has a strong eye for detail. Someone who will work with (and help) the Localisation Lead in the many varied tasks we face. This Engineering role requires someone flexible enough to also be part Project Manager, with a little bit of involvement in quality assurance.
You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or an IT related field, or relevant work experience.
  • Experience as a Localisation Engineer or working in the Internationalisation or Technical Localisation domain.
  • Experience of applying localisation to web and mobile development.
  • Python coding skills to write new or update older python scripts.
  • Knowledge of content management systems and web technologies.

  • An approach to problem solving that involves a sense of ownership, enthusiasm, and innovation.
  • A track record of successfully delivering multiple projects.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly articulate complex issues to all levels of the organisation.
