Junior Software Engineering Manager

Due to significant growth and success within the marketplace over the past 12 months my client is seeking to hire a passionate Junior Software Engineering Manager to join their organisation.

Retaining leadership talented within this organisation is a key driver for them. They have a team of Software Engineering Managers working for them. Each manager has a promotional plan in place, join as an Engineering Manager and your career path goes down the line of Senior Engineering Manager, Director, Vice President until Head of.

They are seeking someone with a solid engineering background but at least a 1-2 years of management experience. This role would not suit someone with extensive experience running teams & multiple teams. In this Junior Software Engineering Manager role, you will manage a team of 6 developers working in a fast paced environment on exciting projects !

You will be able to come in and be able to see the companies existing strategy and influence it. Your role is the planning and execution of these tasks collaborating with product and senior stakeholders. Maturing how they deliver ( no code reviews needed in your role) you will be passionate about and help input great software engineering standards and practices. Always be looking at long term continuous improvement and making sure they are doing things right. Managers and teams are given full autonomy to choose what works best for them Scrum or Kanban or a mixture of both.

As a person they want to see that you have motivation and energy. You have a pragmatic and common sense approach to your work. You buy into and drive the culture of the business. Someone who genuinely wants the best for their team, for them to exceed as much as they can. You are confident in your Software Engineering Management ability that you can lead and direct your new team to deliver key pieces of work while keeping them happy and motivated.

Your skill-set

1-2 years Software Engineering Management experience

A strong technical background.

A great people manager.

Proven track record of software delivery while managing your team from a people management perspective.

Experience with career development, performance and goals tracking.

Expertise at challenging your people in terms of growth and accountability.
