Junior Cybersecurity Engineer - Platform & Infrastructure

About the Team

We develop security standards and implement technical controls in support of the platforms and infrastructure used in Workday. We deliver security services, tools, and automated controls across the various platforms in Workday’s production infrastructure. Our team provides guidance and helps to improve our infrastructure security. We help drive a “Paved Road” approach to security, where teams are given all the resources they need to make good security decisions, and to deploy software quickly and safely. The most valuable contributions you will make are those that address common security issues systematically, and at scale through frameworks, tooling and automation.

 

About the Role

Do you have a passion for security? This is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with infrastructure, service owners and operations teams. We perform security assessments on new and existing products and services to identify security risks and establish baseline security requirements. Ideal candidates will have a shown passion for developing and driving security standards.

Basic Qualifications

  • 2+ years of professional experience in security or systems engineering. Most recent roles should reflect direct, hands-on experience with information security;
  • Experience with Linux OS, Kubernetes, and containerised systems;
  • Development/scripting/automation experience is a requirement;

 

Other Qualifications

  • Experience with cloud service providers like GCP, AWS and Azure is a huge plus
  • Familiarity with tools like Hashicorp Vault, Twistlock a plus
  • Familiarity with Python, Ansible, Terraform a plus
  • Understanding of common application and network protocols, cryptographic technologies, and authentication and authorization protocols
