IT Support Technician

Ergo are seeking an IT Support Technician in Galway for a permanent role with a well-known company. The successful Engineer will report into the IT Manager and will play a key role in supporting local and remote users on a tech stack which includes Office 365, VMware and SQL.

What will you do?

  • Maintenance and support of company IT infrastructure
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot technical problems
  • Logging and management of tickets and assets
  • Familiarity with SQL/ MS SQL server and databases
  • Familiar with some or all of the following, Windows7/10, Windows server 2008/12/16/19, Active Directory, Vmware, Veeam
  • Familiar with TCP/IP networking, including switches, routers, access points and firewalls
  • Must be able to quickly learn new company-specific software in order to be able to support users
  • Must be able to work well and communicate effectively with users of a broad range of computer competency levels
  • Out of hours support required on a scheduled/rotational basis
  • Must be willing and enthusiastic and should have an enduring personal interest in technology and computing
  • 3+ years experience in a similar role (IT Engineer, Helpdesk, Systems Administrator)
  • Windows Server administration (Active Directory / Exchange)
  • Office 365
  • Virtualisation (Citrix / VMware)
  • Backups (Veeam or similar)
  • SQL Server an advantage
  • Professional certifications (MCSA, CCNA, VCP etc.) a real advantage
  • Full Drivers' licence
