About the role

  • In this position, you will lead and strategize the Smart Factory digital transformation 3-5 years global roadmap, covering a scope of 38 plants. You will ensure that the appropriate IT infrastructure is in place and aligned with cybersecurity protocols. You will collaborate with the Subject-Matter Experts (SMEs) network that will support the deployment of Smart Factory solutions globally and locally.
  • Main responsibilities will include:
  • Identify technologies (MES, Edge Computing, IT/OT Cyber Security, etc.) and “preferred” solutions and partners to support standardization across BD.
  • Partner with business and IT solution delivery to define and create the IT foundations for the deployment of a Factory of the Future. Crafting a blueprint of solutions to deliver cost-efficient, flexible, scalable and high-velocity digital transformation.
  • Develop strategies for efficient deployment and adoption of new technology capabilities, services and solutions across the business and/or end customers.
  • Work with the IT network to ensure that solutions are not siloed and that they fit in BD’s enterprise roadmaps
  • Identify and define new opportunities to use technology and/or process re-design to advance business strategies and drive revenue growth, cost optimization and/or risk mitigation and compliance
  • Build knowledge and capability in manufacturing technologies and processes. Identify improvements to existing investments by keeping tabs on industry trends and expertise in new trends such as AI and Machine Learning linked to Manufacturing and Industry 4.0 initiatives.
  • Mentor and coach team members, provide growth assignments to gain experience and exposure

We are looking for a person with a proven track record of providing a vision and strategy and defining a roadmap for sophisticated digitalization to be deployed in manufacturing sites. Knowledge of Aveva Insights, DLM, Aveva Edge or Microsoft Azure or Edge will be a strong asset. We are open to candidates coming from outside of Medtech - ideally you have worked in a regulated industry.
