Vhi Group Services DAC currently have a vacancy for a full time permanent Senior Platform Engineer to help build and support our Openshift Containerization Solution.

This is a unique opportunity to become a lead member of a specialized cross functional team that will manage & support all change on the Openshift   Solution on AWS Cloud Platform. As a Senior Platform Engineer you will be part of a technical team that will be responsible for Deploying, Automating, Maintaining and Managing high traffic, business critical applications that run on the Openshift   \ AWS Platform.

You will be a key influencer in maturing and evolving our overall operational and infrastructural operating model for Openshift   \ AWS Platform.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Responsibility for the reliability of high traffic, business critical applications running on Openshift containerized solutions.
• Work with the Platform Manager to define and build out the Platform Operating Model.
• Work to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) & Service Level Objectives (SLOs).
• Design and build monitoring and alerting solutions for AWS to support SLAs and SLOs.
• Troubleshoot issues across the entire stack - platform, application and network.
• Influence development teams to build reliable and scalable applications with resilience and self-healing in mind.
• Work closely with Platform & development teams to help optimize the platform and applications.
• Use industry best practices and technologies and translate them into platform best practices.
• Identify opportunities to improve practices by automating processes for the team to ensure a high level of value, productivity, quality and reliability.
• Problem & Incident Management - Act in key support role during incident investigation and remediation.
• Work with the Platform team on the operational & infrastructural support for our various Development / Test / Staging & Production environments.
• Administration and Maintenance of specific Openshift Services

• Minimum of 7+ Years’ experience in Supporting Enterprise Systems with 3 + Years in a commercial Platform roles specializing in  containerizations and containerizations orchestration
• Have a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Deep understanding in container technologies like, Kubernetes, and Docker.
• Deep understanding of Openshift 3 + is desirable.
• Deep understanding with configuration management tools.
• Practical experience with Windows & Linux administration.
• Understanding of AWS and automation concepts, practices and procedures.
• Deep understanding Integration systems such as Jenkins.
• Deep understanding of infrastructure & networking such as VMware/ AWS / Load balance / Networking/ Storage / NFS / Openshift container storage / VMware PV.
• Proven experience working with large scalable, secure and fault tolerant systems.
• Proven experience with monitoring & tracing frameworks.
• Experience in Deploying, Automating, Maintaining and Managing Non-Production & Production environments and in handling and solving system outages.
• Experience with programming scripting languages like Shell.
• Analytical; solves problems at root cause and prioritizes effectively.
• Very strong verbal and nonverbal communicator. Adept at explaining complex technical concepts and share your knowledge with diverse audiences.
• Collaborative and team oriented work approach with proven experience gaining consensus among a large, diverse group of stakeholders.
