itContracting are currently seeking applicants on behalf of our Irish public-sector client for an Information Security Engineer. This can be a long-term daily rate contract or fixed-term contract position based onsite at our client’s Headquarters in Longford.

The successful candidate will join our client’s existing ICT Security Team under supervision of the IT Manager, and will be responsible for liaising and engaging with other IT teams and internal business units in relation to any potential security threats or issues in order to understand and evaluate the security posture of the organisation within the context of the ICT technology environment.

Each resource on the ICT Security Team will also be required to work additional hours (“on-call” hours), outside of the normal office working hours. These additional hours will be on a shared weekly rota basis between the members of the ICT Security Team (i.e. in addition to the regular office hours, the successful candidate will be required to work the shared on-call hours every third week). The majority of on-call hours will be provided offsite.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct cyber security maturity assessments, vendor and third-party risk assessments and recommend risk remediation strategies
• Provide expertise in security posture assessments in-line with standards like ISO 27001, regulatory requirements, emerging threats and organisational risk
• Liaise with other ICT teams in formulating security policies, standards and procedures
• Advise internal business units on possible preventative measures which could be taken to reduce risk of intrusion
• Internet access monitoring – configure and maintain
• Email monitoring – configure and maintain
• Lead the delivery of ICT security solutions including planning, monitoring and reporting of progress to the ICT Managers
• Computer forensics and incident investigations
• Threat and vulnerability management
• Enterprise mobility management
• Security monitoring and alerting
• Lead staff security awareness programs
• Prepare business cases for ICT security solutions and provide input into tender requirements

Experience: 2 years
