Full Stack Software Developer Library Technologies

Job Purpose:

• Develop cutting edge information and knowledge management solutions to advance the mission of Novartis by leveraging technology as a critical tool to accomplish goals
• Deliver value added knowledge through automated systems that synthesize scientific, business, and intellectual information to Novartis partners

Major Accountabilities:

• Fundamental domain expertise in data visualization, library science, search tech and scientific data management
• Use of technology to synthesize information into actionable information for clients across scientific and business disciplines working with externally licensed infor-mation resources with subject matter expertise
• Demonstrate a base understanding of the technologies / environments / vendors commonly used in the information management/informatics industry
• Develop new components for our innovative platform for solving problems with large amounts of external data
• Use of technology to synthesize information into accurate answers or actionable information for clients across scientific and business disciplines
• Deliver appropriate metrics to continually measure quality to demonstrate the value of and continually improve information sources and services
• Apply and manage taxonomies in the Knowledge Center’s digital infrastructure

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science required at a minimum and relevant years of experience in the information technology and/or information & knowledge management field.
• Library information and/or information science is required.
• Understanding and passion for open-source technology and proficient in C#, Angular, ASP.NET MVC4, XML, Bootstrap, JQuery, Java/Maven, JavaScript, Linux, Oracle and SQL Server
• Experience in Project Management is essential
• Experience building intuitive visuals using UX/UI is essential.
• Experience working on Linux systems and understanding and processing of XML content is required.
• Experience working in or supporting a Pharmaceutical/Life Science function is highly desirable.
