An opportunity has arisen for an Enterprise Architect join Glanbia Business Services. This is a permanent opportunity will be based from either our Kilkenny or Dublin office and will report to the Head of Information Security and IT Risk.
While likely to be initially working remotely due to current restrictions, the base location of the role will be Kilkenny or Dublin, upon return to the workplace with a blended working arrangement available through our Smart working model which allows you a greater choice in how you work and live, giving you a better work-life balance.
Overview
The Enterprise Architect for IT will work with IT Strategists to capture the corporate strategy in enough detail to enable them plan the required business solutions and technology portfolio on a multiyear basis. This is a strategic role, combining technical and business understanding with road mapping and planning competencies, involving big-picture thinking and the ability to visualise and articulate future state IT landscapes.
The role will lead a distributed team of architects from the Centres of Excellence and Infrastructure groups to catalogue, model, design and plan systems and technology solutions, outlining scenarios for where Glanbia will be tomorrow, and the roadmaps that lead from one stage in the journey to the next.
Key Elements of the Role
•Provide the technical authority, governance, and direction for the enterprise architecture practice and record design decisions.
•Participate in high level business requirements gathering sessions to interpret business needs and uses EA framework to develop models that guide the creation and upkeep of a future state IT architecture.
•Chair the Architecture Review Board and participate in project Design Authorities as appropriate to ensure that solution designs comply with the Glanbia enterprise architecture.
•Manage the creation and maintenance of IT asset catalogues to provide an architecture repository of Glanbia’s IT assets and associated processes.
•Be responsible for architectural design and documentation at a landscape and technical reference model level and ensure that all artefacts are maintained in a central repository.
•Maximise solution re-use and synergies across the organization and, were appropriate, reduce costs through technology re-use.
•Proactively identify technology-enabled solutions to support business opportunities.
•Technology Portfolio Management. Provide technical expertise in the assessment and selection of software packages and determine where they fit in the overall roadmap for Glanbia.
•Advise on the selection and use of appropriate architectural frameworks and design standards, methods, and tools and their effective application.
•Working with the business unit IT Strategists co-ordinate innovation value propositions for proof of value.
•Maintain external IT Analyst relations.
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s degree (NFQ 7 or higher) in IT or associated discipline
•TOGAF, Federated Enterprise Architect or similar IT architecture qualification
Experience
•A minimum of 5+ years Enterprise Architecture
•Experience in Information Architecture, Integration Architecture or Enterprise Resource Planning a distinct advantage
