DevOps Engineer

This role will help facilitate the development, maintenance, monitoring, and support of the public and private cloud infrastructure that is the foundation of our award-winning SaaS application.The role will involve delivering on enterprise work initiatives and projects as well as optimising the reliability, security, and scalability of our infrastructure operations.You will act as technical liaison between systems team and other operations teams, as well as working with cross-functional teams and architects to provide technical guidance and insight on upcoming implementations and strategies.The role will also require providing technical guidance to more junior systems engineers.The ideal candidate will be a highly competent, results driven as well as a highly self-motivated individual.

Responsibilities

Owning, tracking, and resolving system incidents and requests.

Fulfilling requests and resolving incidents within SLAs.

Operation, administration, and automation of Microsoft Active Directory on cloud platforms.

Monitoring performance, troubleshooting systems problems and outages, scheduling upgrades, collaborating with System Engineers andArchitects on any required optimisations.

Provide on-call support for the Development Operations team in an outage situation.

Work as part of the team to ensure projects and goals are delivered to timelines.

Collaborating closely with Information security team to define, manage and implement the security configuration of all infrastructure and systems.

Ongoing maintenance of documentation relating to new and current systems throughout the organisation.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory with experience of multi-forest environments and AWS Managed Active Directory.
  • Experience with enterprise administration of windows servers and related technologies (DNS, IIS, Failover Clustering, WSUS).
  • Knowledge of scripting and automation (PowerShell).
  • Experience with Cloud Providers (AWS, Azure).
  • Knowledge of Windows Troubleshooting tools and techniques (Event viewer, Perfmon, SysInternals)
  • Experience with enterprise management tools (Packer, Salt, Chococlatey, Octopus).

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Experience with AWS Route 53 Resolver.
  • Experience with Splunk.
  • Experience with Dell Server Hardware.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and scripting languages.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume, agile environment.
  • Ability to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm, and innovation.
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to clearly articulate complex technical issues to all levels of the organization (both technical and non-technical).
