Desktop Support Engineer

Based in Dublin, our client is a world leader in providing consulting, information technology and outsourcing services. This company continue to grow and expand their dynamic team and are currently looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to join them on a permanent contract.

Our client is looking for a candidate with 2-3 years hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments, who can provide technical assistance to their internal clients. The successful candidate will help install, upgrade, and troubleshoot hardware and software systems.

What will a Desktop Support Engineer do?

  • Address user tickets regarding hardware, software, and associated desktop infrastructure.
  • Walk customers through installing applications and computer peripherals.
  • Ask targeted questions to diagnose problems.
  • Guide users with simple, step-by-step instructions.
  • Conduct remote troubleshooting.
  • Test alternative pathways until you resolve an issue.
  • Record technical issues and solutions.
  • Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel.
  • Follow up with clients to ensure their systems are functional.
  • Report customer feedback and potential product requests.
  • Help create technical documentation.
  • 2-3 years hands-on experience with Windows/Linux/Mac OS environments
  • Knowledge of office 365, Teams and Microsoft productivity suites.
