Data Steward

The Delivery Services (DS) Business Strategy & Solutions Team at Guidewire provides internal back-office support for our employees and contractors around the globe. The Data Steward role will work cross-functionally with a group of geographically disbursed team members to implement and maintain data quality initiatives on behalf of Delivery Services and in support of greater data integrity of the company.  The ideal candidate will have previous Data Analyst experience, strong Excel and Salesforce Reporting Experience.

This role requires someone who can learn quickly, who is proactive and flexible, and who loves the satisfaction that comes from delivering results. The succesful candidate will be organized, detail oriented and thrive on juggling multiple priorities.  He/She will have a proven ability to anticipate challenges, recommend options, and drive improvements that help ensure we can respond to the expanding needs for the Delivery Services Organization at Guidewire.

Essential job functions:

  • Partner with Technical Teams and Business Partners to establish enterprise oversight of critical team related data
  • Build and deploy effective data quality monitoring services
  • Analyze data to discover gaps or inconsistencies and then build reports to help management gather necessary info
  • Be a go-to expert on the Delivery Services data model
  • Be a FinancialForce subject matter expert as it relates to Delivery Services data
  • Support the DS organization as a go-to-expert on Salesforce Reports; Tableau CRM (Formerly SFDC Einstein Analytics) and Thougtspot for Enterprise-Reporting needs
  • Develop and maintain reports for management to enable data-driven decisions
  • Develop, implement, monitor and report monthly and quarterly key business metrics
  • Help to maintain the data dictionary (Alation) on behalf of all DS data
  • Assist the enterprise in leveraging Services data to full capacity
  • Bachelor’s Degree and keen desire for data accuracy
  • 2-3 Years previous financial or data analysis experience
  • Advanced user experience with Salesforce and/or FinancialForce, specifically with understanding the data/object architecture, and creating reports.
  • Excellent Excel skills including use of advanced formulas
  • Previous experience with Tableau CRM, Thoughtspot or other enterprise-reporting tool is a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and written communications skills with an ability to explain and distill complex ideas in a simple and meaningful way
  • Previous Experience with Data Warehouse models
  • Exemplary time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively with a global team
  • Comfortable with uncertainty and willingness to adjust priorities when needed
  • A good sense of humor and one who does not take themselves too seriously
